Bows.co.uk is live — your new UK home for archery bows & gear

We’re excited to launch bows.co.uk, the latest specialist site from PJS UK Ltd—a trusted UK retailer dedicated to making great kit easy to find, understand, and enjoy. Whether you’re picking up a bow for the first time or you’re refining a tournament setup, bows.co.uk brings together quality equipment, straight-talking guidance, and friendly support.

Why we built bows.co.uk

Archery deserves a place that’s as welcoming to beginners as it is useful to seasoned archers. With bows.co.uk, we’ve created a focused home for recurve, longbow, and compound shooters—plus arrows, sights, rests, strings, and all the essentials—so you can get what you need without wading through unrelated products.

What you’ll find

  • Bows & starter kits: sensibly specced bundles for new archers, plus upgrade paths as you grow.

  • Arrows & components: shafts, points, vanes, and nocks selected to pair correctly with typical UK draw lengths and weights.

  • Accessories that matter: stringers, tabs, releases, quivers, targets, maintenance tools, and cases.

  • Guides & tips: plain-English articles and “Top Tips” to help with draw length, arrow spine, setup, and care.

Our fit-first approach

Getting the basics right makes the biggest difference. We emphasise:

  • Comfort over poundage: choose a draw weight you can shoot with consistent form.

  • Correct draw length: quick rule of thumb—wingspan (inches) ÷ 2.5 ≈ draw length.

  • Arrow matching: we’re happy to help with a free arrow spine check—just share your bow type, draw length, and draw weight.

  • Care & safety: never dry-fire; wax your string; use a bow stringer for recurves/longbows.

UK note: Bowhunting is illegal. UK archery is target, field, and 3D—join a local club for coaching, community, and insurance.

Built for UK archers

We’re UK-based and tuned to UK club life and ranges. Our copy, sizing guidance, and product curation reflect the realities of shooting here: typical indoor distances, popular beginner setups, and progression paths coaches actually recommend.

Launch-day FAQs

Is bowhunting legal in the UK?
No—hunting with a bow is illegal. Archery in the UK is target, field, or 3D on ranges and approved land.

I’m a beginner—where should I start?
A classic route is a takedown recurve with limbs you can draw comfortably for a full session, matched arrows, a stringer, finger tab or release aid, and a basic sight. We can size everything with just a few measurements.

How do I estimate my draw length?
As a quick estimate: wingspan (inches) ÷ 2.5. It’s a starting point; we’ll help you fine-tune.

What’s an “arrow spine check” and why does it matter?
Spine is how stiff an arrow is. If it doesn’t match your draw weight and length, groups open up and tuning gets frustrating. Share your bow type, draw length, and draw weight and we’ll recommend a spine and length that makes sense.

Do you support clubs and coaches?
Yes—if you’re kitting out beginners or need consistent consumables for courses, get in touch. We’re happy to help with sizing lists and repeatable setups.

Thanks for being here at launch. From first arrows to fine-tuning, bows.co.uk is built to help you shoot better—and enjoy every session.
